A LITTLE LATER THAT TUESDAY, 13:45 pm and I walk to another part of the city, well not like I walked ten miles barefoot to school or anything like that…go straight and make a left and there she was; Sandra the WNBA star. So, what if she can probably beat me one on one, no she’s no WNBA star but does have a friendly smile, which brings me to Canadiana Backpackers Inn slogan; “Your home away from home”. If you have any large items or just want to store some items, they do have coin operated lockers. Since, Canadiana Backpackers Inn thought you really need to take a break, they decided to expand their property and add 40 more rooms. All newly renovated in the last 6 months and ready to accommodate all groups in their second building a few doors down and in total there’s about 200 beds available. Depending on the type of year, Canadiana Backpackers will take up to 60 persons in a group. And if Sandra isn’t around then ask Kyle and inquire ‘bout special offers.
You enter into a very relaxed atmosphere you’ve got people coming from all around the world and this couple is from England and now they know to book through Hostelbookers. One of the first things you notice is all the people on the internet or wireless, it’s a $1CDN for 20 minutes, but it is FREE between 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Now if your feeling nibbly then there’s some snack machines and they serve coffee in the morning and there tea available all day. Now there are two kitchens, but the bigger one of the two is downstairs with all your basic necessities.
Very relaxed atmosphere and there might not be any showers but a lot of coed washrooms for a quiet bunch…lol…and if you want, just grab a book and sit in the lounge area. Now I know some people like to have a little drink while reading, then they’ll guide you to the local LCBO or beer store in the area or are you ready…Canadiana Backpackers has there very own movie theatre inside the building that sits 50 comfortably…but there’s standing room or just share a seat with a someone.
All this typing is getting me tired, so after a good nights sleep in one of your private rooms then you can wake up to the smell of your FREE pancake breakfast at 09:30 with maple syrup! More of the Canadian experience includes socializing over food!
Now they go back to sleep and awake to party tonite…well, everyday there’s a theme for every night of the week varying from Karaoke, quiz nights, soccer, brewery tours and much more to include everyone and keep you busy…very comfortable downtown destination and helpful staff. The back patio can be used for some games, socializing, and music and of course…sniff, sniff. Is there anyone up for a BBQ? And this is where I met Chris, the owner of Canadiana Backpackers
