My Thoughts

Moncton%20Love%201.jpg

It’s 13:05 on Thursday October 19th and I’ve arrived to the bus terminal at Moncton, New Brunswick. I spoke to Cindy of C’mon Inn Hostel earlier and she gave me walking instructions to get to her place, which is literally a 3 minute walk away. I walk in and I’m greeted by Mike whom I find out later assists Cindy with some things around the home. Great location in a residential area and close to Riveries Chocolate which is named this because the banks and water are chocolate brown. There’s also a wave that comes in once a day from the ocean that can actually be surfed for about a mile long, never did see it and that’s only because my hostess was INCREDIBLE. Every city would learn by the efforts of…actually most of the cities have been great welcoming Hostelbookers and demonstrating what there is to do…not every property, but someone in that city took the torch and ran with it. Where do I start? After, going to Calactus, which is a vibrant source of family, passion, love and health as well as a vegeterainan restaurant. I entered and there she was, Cindy, all smiles and immediately I could feel tha this was going to be a great visit. I was offered an organic coffee…something werher use to in the Caribbean but new in Norht America and it was good with my soya milk but I’d still rather it with sweet milk and for those that forget…it’s condensed milk. We left and a got a tour of downtown Moncton…take a look at the pictures. I know I should probably be taking more structural pictures but since this trip I’ve been fasinated with nature, this massive land called Canada and the variety of people I’ve met. I use to say that this is a small world, well that has changed. It’s a very large and beautiful world with so much to do, enjoy, laugh at and with and fully respect the power of the wind, water, air and of course fire.

Before I start going off again let me stick to the topic and focus…lol…ok, so Cindy and I went out for Thai that night and that was just okay, then we went to a brewery pub and I enjoyed if you can believe this…a blueberry ale. Wow!! And yes there were blueberries in my drink. I actually ordered a sampler, which means they charge you a little more but they give you shooter size drinks and you decide from that what you want. It obvious they don’t understand the marketing tool of the internet by making my bill a complimentary one, so they’re name isn’t mentioned…but if you go to Moncton check them out, no worries Cindy if able will make sure you check it out. From there we went another Pub, sat down innoscently only to meet up with two friends so now we’ve got a group of four. I started play paparazzi and asked another person to take our picture then invited him over and our group is now five. One of the ladies went to get some more drinks and brought another person back and our group grew by one more…are you counting? Good we’re at six. Then a another person came by and hanged for a minute, literally and then jumped ship, so he doesn’t count but there was another person who came by and hung out for a while…long enough to get himself in some photos. This is moncton, phones not necessary just show up and you’ll and meet people…wow!!! That’s amazing but our night wasn’t over yet, we went by one of the girls home played some music, sang and just…that’s right just relaxed. Could this be a onetime thing, NO…because it happened again the next night but it was arranged at someone else’s home and that was crazy fun seeing and listening to all the variety of artists here, some Francophone’s and some Anglos. One of the artist their was an animator and we watched his cartoon that was in both English and French. Now that was another amazing experience in Moncton…thanks Cindy and friends. Now your probably thinking, Doesn’t he have somewhere else to go? And I do, but you’ll read about it in the next session because in between all of this I went to Prince Edward Island. Then came back and joined moncton for a jam session, some of you know that I’m a wiriter of newsic, yes some spell it music. So, probably next time I’ll propbaly go up and push a couple of lyrics, but I saw some people from yesterday and they came to the jam session to make their mark. Another great night in moncton, went back to the C’mon Inn, did some work and then hit my bed. Cindy and friends talked about having more fun and the next day we went to the market. Are you ready for my soft side…well, your going to get it. There was an Arcadian playing and there was this little girl smiling from ear to ear running in circles telling her mom to look at her because she was dancing, another child joined in for a little while and another child was playing air guitar. It was great to see the children enjoying their culture here and the proudness was shown through the smilies of everyone watching. Now some of you know my views on culture, but this was no time for me to be political but rather enjoy! And I did. Has Cindy and I were about to leave we ran into one of her friends and then one of the long-termers that staying at the inn and we all went to the Bay of Fundy. I was by the Atlantic Ocean…did you hear me, by the Atlantic Ocean. This is all amazing to me and then we went to Enrage by the lighthouse and the winds were powerful, then to the lookout point. The pictures her look like it’s smudged artwork, just more amazing sites in Moncton. And if I didn’t tell you all this time, I was feeling under the weather…I think the damp chill was getting into my head and the result was a cold, so two days off and then I’ll be back, well to Nova Scotia…much thanks to Cindy & Friends for showing so much fun in Moncton.
