Its 21:40 and I have arrived, well at least to Huntsville and I got a cab. It’s only time before I get to meet Robin & Ben from Wolf Den Bunkhouses n’ Cabins. I jump in a cab and we go and get a coffee at Tim Hortens which is a Canadian franchise. We then continue, so that I make it the time I had given to Robin while waiting for the bus. We drive past the city of Dwight and then taxi pulls in and I notice some filming of the stars by the guests, whom I found out during a brief tour that night, that they’re from South Korea. I retrieve my bags from the taxi and I meet Ben, whom is one of the host and owners of Wolf Den Bunkhouses n’ Cabins. I make my way into the reception area and I’m immediately greeted by Miko the pet dog on site and Robin whom I have been conversing with, this whole trip. After I get settled, I’m given a brief tour of the facilities but before all that…I inform of the downside of technology…we need a scratch & sniff section. My bunkhouse is a log cabin and ALL YOU SMELL IS FRESH WOOD. My sense of scent has just put me in a place that would have me already within the grasp of nature and all that is real. I’m given a heater in the room and it’s a bit nippy to say the least ‘bout outdoors. The stars are bursting with brightness, but I later can’t find any has the clouds come in and create a shield of warmth. This venture has just begun for both Robin & Ben and they will be planning to really push new projects to continue getting people to come to see them and their very green ways. Big common area for cooking and a dining area which shows of Algonquin Park and it’s enormity. There’s a lot of land up here for you to go hiking, biking and paddling…so I better go to bed soon because Ben’s going to be taking me on the lake tomorrow and this sounds like a wicked adventure, I’m so excited and hope to show you some pictures soon. I’m informed of the shower area and that you’ll need to let it run at least 30 seconds, to give it a chance for hot water to pas through, well it sounds like the crisp water will wake me up tomorrow…so I will dive under this comforter and see you all in the morning…this is great!

The next morning, its 06:50 on Saturday September 30th and I’m going to grab a towel in the main room above the laundry and start my wash. Before, my excitement has me jumping into the shower, I remember quickly that it takes 30 seconds to receive hot water, bang on and I’m in. After my wash Ben and I go canoeing up the river to the falls and if it’s to be we’ll also see some wildlife. But the main reason is experience the moments I get to spend in nature and learn more ignored gifts. I’m firstly amazed with the mist of the river and the beauty of the changing leaves. In the background you hear the crushing waters, which is the sign of the falls approaching. Wow! We’re paddling round each bend and viewing all the new upcoming experiences of being up here; Canoe Park and off to the restaurant; Diving board and swing, Blue Huron, Islands (sometimes covered over during Spring) and the Falls. Then we went Hiking and I received a lesson on the variety of trees in the area we were in, interesting to all those that love nature. Now you can hike, fish, go tracking and all that your heart desires. You’ll in the presence of like-minded interests because if you just can’t appreciate nature and what it has to offer, then this not a place for you. Here there’s a lot of attention in respecting rules and regulations of the establishment, so that you may have a consistent visit. Now after the canoeing experience I was able to see others up and about and meet people from around the world and with their own personal of reasons for coming to Algonquin Park and specifically the Wolfs Den. Then in the self-catering kitchen that comes with all your kitchen necessities and an eco-friendly waste system. The Dining area can seat ‘bout 40 and there’s a lounge with games, books and local crafted lamp shades that’s just beautiful.
