My Thoughts

Its 13:10 and I’m still on the phone with Dell ‘bout some computer problems, but I’m not going to miss my appointment with Shirley and Larry Woods of Tranquility Base Bed & Breakfast. My cousin and I make our way via the round-a-bout and I ring the bell and introduce myself to Shirley. She smiles and seats me down to have we talk ‘bout how many things there are to do in Ancaster. This is a bed and breakfast that will truly make you feel like you’re in mama’s kitchen. Shirley is cooking some chicken pot pie and baking a cherry pie. In the morning you’ll be delighted to have some homemade jam to spread over your morning breakfast toast, bagel and/or English muffin. Not quite big enough for groups but great for couples since there are 3 bedrooms and two are ensuite. Also, there are many dolls upstairs, yes, dolls; some are antique, glamorous, some depicted in glass cases showcasing a love of dolls. You’ll see some in carriages, sitting in chairs and some are made by your host; Shirley Woods. Now I haven’t seen Larry yet, but I hear a cough so I’m thinking he’s around somewhere...lol. Now, Ancaster is listed in the city of Hamilton to create a greater area. Now, there’s no Snow White here, but there’s an Apple Festival in Stoney Creek. If you’re looking for a fair then come to the midway at the Ancaster Fair. And if you haven’t got enough Maple Syrup for your pancakes then there’s always a festival for it during the spring. But why stop there, especially when you involve yourself in an informal environment designed to celebrate the Hamilton Fringe Festival. You can either check it out prior to coming or on your FREE internet service provided by Tranquility Base Bed & Breakfast. Most cards are accepted, but if your coming by late, please call. Now, Shirley doesn’t do tours but there are Historical and Bike tours in the area, Hiking and walking trails and tours of museums and art galleries. Oh! Did I tell that there are 10 falls in the area within a ten mile radius…awesome! Check it out and some are situated round restaurants, if your up for some romance-tolerant

Who’s up for Hamilton Mardi Gras?

On that note, I better continue working out some sales and my plans for sleeping arrangements tomorrow, since there’s no room in Woodstock for me and they want me in Hensall later in the day, well since I have a stopover in London I might have to go there and hangout till then…I’ll keep you posted since this looks like its going to be another sleeping experience…talk to you soon!

Wednesday September 27th and I arrive at 10:13 to the Hamilton train station. I get there 17 minutes earlier than I was informed from greyhound customer service to get my bus on time to Woodstock, Ontario. I check with the attendant to see at what bay my bus arrives and I’m sadly informed that my bus left at 10:00. I look at the date and time fixed behind the attendant and I’m fully aware by his homely expression that it’s not April Fools Day. So, I inquire when will next bus be leaving for my destination and tells me at 13:50, so I just say, ‘ahhhhhhhh!’ I eventually make my way to another wire bench and seat myself down and start working away by sending emails letting properties that, Hostelbookers is trying to make its way across North America to see you. Get this done while trying to stay online some how, some way so that I can email the office and properties, my connection continues to get interrupted so I make my way outdoors to see if that will serve me a better connection and it does for a while. All of a sudden there’s no connection for some reason, my ass is hurting from sitting on metal and wooden benches. You’d think with all this dam technology that we’d get some extra cushion for our ass. What doesn’t some on invent it so that you can put water in it…something like a water bed that would be somewhat puncture proof so that it could endure any horse play by mischievous persons?

It still September 27th and only an hour before this bus comes and I’m trying not to fall asleep…I think everyone knows that if you sit me too long indoors that I’m going to…wake me up when the bus arrives, please. I think it’s the last bus till midnight. Hey! I haven’t heard from either Ed or Juan, they must both be playing some 5 aside football after work again…almost 18:00 in the England and everyone’s thinking ‘bout dinner while I know I can’t make a move with the weight on my shoulders just to get food…I’ll wait till I get to Woodstock and walk 2 km to my destination. I plan to go to Toronto after since the destination didn’t offer me a complimentary place to stay and the said the place is full anyways, so time to build up some muscles again…lol…I will have an even stronger back when this is all finished. I still got to tell the properties in Ottawa that I intend to come down, I gave them all a call now I just have to send an email. No worries, I will when I get back online. That’s the biggest challenge, being able to get online in different parts of the province…it’s going to be real fun in those rural areas, I better look for the local police station or city hall and borrow some airtime…lol

Ahhhhhhh! Where’s the bus, no I’m not frustrated, just tired….snoring, snoring, snoring…those guys aren’t calling, guess I talk to them tomorrow!

Time for some Corinne bailey Rae…like a star

Feeling better again! Thanks
