I came off the coach and walked with my 150lb bags down the street and then across the way to a very beautiful architectured home that shows off it's beauty in the woodwork and what the occupants of HI - Sacramento have done with it. I arrived in the evening, tired and hungary and was directed to a few places to enjoy some food. I did find out that many places in the area is closed early during weekdays and almost non-existent during weekends because your poitioned in across from city hall and in the area of the financial district. It's a very safe location, the street lights are lit, streets are easy to follow, while management and their associates give you directions to their knowledgeable insight into the city. Around the hostel it was good to see the outdoor patio, wonderful yard, herbal garden and parking. I would've liked to stay longer than a day to really appreciate the many attractions that Sacramento has to offer so I made sure i stopped by the Tourist Information Centre to let you know some of the things to do. One of the greatest feature for me here was how HI-Sacramento gives back to the community with their Step Program by helping those with consisent everyday challenges and if your looking to relax, go by the herb garden...anyone interested in mint tea :)
