I've just arrived in Hawaii from San Francisco, looked for one of the ladies in yellow whom were in charge of getting you to the property of your desire via shuttle. Know i'm getting my first taste of Hawaii and I'm loving the smiles, warmth and of course the beauty. Going through the streets it's all the same, like being in America...maybe because i am :) but that all changes once i've reached the heart of the tourism district. Then I start seeing signs in Japanese...I was wondering what was going on but it happens to be a big vacation spot since it's on the other side of the pond. I pull to the Polynesion and check in without incidence and there definitely looks like there's lots of opportunity to meet people here, but don't look for any frills since you won't find many. Currently, there are some renovations going on and ask about sleeping arrangements so that your clear on where you'll be staying. The lots of toys to keep your feet wet on the beach, which is literallly steps away. Equipment necessary to have fun on the beach...snorkels, surf boards, paddling boats and air mattresses. A very friendly atmosphere with the basics of accomodation unless you book one of the studios which are just beautiful and is very ideal for a family.
