Thursday September 7th I’m off to the Castlegate Inn to speak with Michael Brunetti. I get off at Spadina station and start walking north, but I should have checked in on the site and just got off at Dupont station…well, I used Dupont to get to my next destination. When I finally arrived, Michael Brunetti was sitting at the front desk of the reception area and used a walk-talkie to inform his colleagues that his appointment with me has arrived and that he’ll be busy for the next few moments. We play daredevils and cross the street, making sure to look both ways has we go to another location which houses people. Most people are students, professors and small families…it’s all depends on what you want to do.
Just in a 5 minute radius is the Casa Loma and 15 minute walk will bring you to Chinatown and Kensington Market. If you take the subway form Dupont straight down Union station, you can hop on the Harbourfront LRT and be experiencing the variety of cultures that Toronto celebrates every weekend on a budget of FREE.

After a long day you can pick up some groceries nearby in some of shopping centers and cook up in your room, then jump in your private ensuite shower and relax the day down. Please remember that the reception is not 24 hrs, but there is a number to call someone whom is on a 24hr on call and is close by. And let them know before had that if they’d like to hook-up via the internet, it’ll cost you $5.00 CDN/ day.
The next day, go enjoy your morning in the breakfast room. One of the associates will be able to guide you with information about tours around the city and or Great Lakes. They have ads and all the information that you’ll need, so get on your hiking shoes and time to hit the road…well I better get going myself from this cool and quiet atmosphere.
A bit later that same day, not too far away is my next appointment with Mal of the Grange Hotel. Now this personally for accommodation purposes and that’s what you’ll find from this property. Many groups book here for conferences and events at the Metro Conventions. You’ll be placed in a room that’s ensuite, has a kitchenette and either a twin or double bed. There are 90% of the rooms that have internet access via the phone cared…but, if you’d like there’s a park or even front yard that you can bring your laptop to and just do your research. This hotel is located in a residential neighborhood and close by to the local schools. Now this location is a summer hot spot since it’s the closest of all our locations to a FREE to use Olympic size swimming pool, that is run by the city and in the heat of summer it stays open till midnight for all those late night dips. Right next to the pool is a neighborhood park that’s free to use anytime of the day or night. Your also staring into Kensington Market and Chinatown. If your looking to do some alternative shopping on Queen Street where you’ll find many entrepreneurs and a variety of shops. Also in the area is the Art Gallery, the University of Toronto and many bars.
Mal accepts all cards and there’s no minimum length of stay for you and your friends, so if your taking Toronto by storm or just getting a hint…Mal wants you and come anytime since the reception area is open 24hrs.
After going up and down the city, please take as much pictures as you can because there’s so much too see in this area of town..
